Get rid of the old in order to let the new in

As the end of the year is here and holidays filled with appreciation and love have now been celebrated, I think it's the exact right time to start thinking about the bigger picture. Christmas has always been about showing your love and giving something back to the world so I started thinking about what would be the first thing for me to do so I could give a little something to the community :) I've always been all about recycling and being a huge fan of thrifting, there is one type of charity I really love and I always try to contribute! When I was offered the opportunity to be one of the bloggers sharing some love with the #purposeblogger theme, I decided my way is donating clothes!

I think one of the most stupid things to do is simply throw away things that could be absolutely suitable for someone else. There might be some people who feel they are "humiliating" others by giving something that used to belong to them but in fact it's no news nor surprise that unfortunately there are people who can't afford it all, at least not at that point of their life and there's nothing wrong about giving your clothes or taking the clothes from charity. I hope this kind of false attitude will fade away from society and we can just take it as recycling which for me is something that I'm always on board with :)

Once you've decided you want to freshen up your closet, collect together all the items that are in good condition, clean and nice and find the nearest place to your home that accepts donations. :) Usually those would be some charity shops, churches, community centres, thriftshops, different associations like Unicef, Goodwill, Humana.. there are many possibilities and all depends from the area you live in. In any ways, I really emphasize how good is the feeling, even though it's a rather small thing .. however, knowing someone might be super happy about that kind of a gift, makes my heart warm. Let's get rid of those things and let them go into recycling :)

Have you ever donated clothes? What was it like for you? What are your experiences with donating? :)
