Insanity - Week 2. "This is success!"

Hello my lovelies!

Today I can happily (and quite tiredly) bring to you a happy post about my progress in Insanity. The week was definitely very very hard, but I'm glad it is over and I'm trying to give my best with every single workout. So, the reason why this post is coming now not earlier, is that today was my Fit test! That includes 8 exercises, each of them very challenging, and after every 2 weeks I have to do them, every single one for 1 minute, write down my result and see if I have made a progress in my overall strength.  After today's fit test, I can very proudly say that the progress I've made with only 15 days is so huge!  Considering I'm a girl who never ever had done any proper workout, I'd say that's a big deal! Right now I'm very very proud and I will continue pushing myself so the next fit test would show even more amazing results. :)

Doing the fit test did give me loads of energy and motivation, but I really have to admit that there are 2 great men behind those results: Shaun T and Rauno, haha. Shaun T, the author of Insanity, is a really great trainer and just listening to him or watching him do the exercises gives you so much energy and positivity that you just can't stop!  Moreover, I can say I'm one seriously lucky girl because Rauno pushes me even more and even further, motivates me, but then again supports me as much as he can.  That matters to me so much - having some motivators, because sometimes I'm not the best at it.

Other than that, I feel how everything is slowly "fitting" to place - especially eating habits. It was so hard to manage with new eating plan and trying to fit it all to low budget, but we've definitely started to see some progress and some things come naturally now: for example my after-workout-snacks or eating 5 times per day. Trust me, it's very hard to start living like that! Before Insanity we basically ate 3 times a day but we ate a huge portion at once and also had some snacks all the time so I don't have to guess where all those  extra pounds have come from. I'm really enjoying this new lifestyle & I really feel how everything can go only better from now on!

(Today's breakfast: stuffed eggs with sausages, roasted bread, salad and cheese - all very high in protein and calcium, a decent amount of carbs for pumping up the energy for the day! PS: This little breakfast cost only 0,70 cents for 2 people! Cheap, tasty & healthy - what else could you want?!)

Making an eating plan on a budget, being a college student and trying to satisfy our both needs - because obviously Rauno can't eat as few as I do and needs definitely more calories - it can be very difficult to manage around and those changes can't come overnight. Therefore, here's a little example menu of one of my days, to show you that you really can do it and you don't need a) a lot of money or b) a lot of time to eat healthy and still get the body you want!

My eating plan for 1 day:
* Breakfast - Coffee with milk, oat meal porridge with 1tbs of honey
* Snack - 2 apples
* Lunch - A nice healthy sandwich: chicken breast, salad, sweet pepper, tea with honey
* Snack (after workout) - Roasted oat meal with yoghurt and a bit of pineapple
* Dinner - Whole wheat tortilla with fish balls in tomato sauce, paprika and salad, 1 little apple

All of that should give you about 1300-1400 calories, depending of course of the portion sizes but for me that's the amount of calories I have to consume for healthy weight loss :) There are loads of options for you how to mix your meals but I can tell you one thing: you can eat anything as long as you do it reasonably! For example, you can eat Pasta Bolognese, but you just have to control the portion size - take less pasta, use less meats in the sauce & definitely - make it all from scratch, don't buy the sauce, make it yourself!

So, since it's almost 2am, I need my beauty sleep & I guess that's about it for today. Remember - eat healthy, exercise, keep pushing yourself & be positive because then you can achieve anything! <3

PS: For extra motivation I even created a Fitness Tumblr that will keep me motivated and positive throughout those hard workouts. :)

See you all soon! xoxo
