Alexander Wang Spring 2014. Pictures from Nymag.
This time of September, all true fashion-holics are holding their breath gasping for air because of all the beauty and glory in New York currently and at the same time holding their hand tightly on the fashion pulse so they wouldn't miss anything that potentially would be trendy in spring. Staying true to my fashionheart and not being able to stay away from the Internet, searching and watching all the shows ... well, I must say it is really breathtaking! There is something for every single taste - starting from endless varieties in minimalistic wear and ending with colorful, almost out-of-this-world beautiful dresses. Grungy, chic, bohemian, sporty .. everything has been ensembled. Even though it's so difficult to choose some collections that really can steal your heart, I tried to find my true apples-of-the-eye and as always, my heart was taken by colors and bohemian collections!
1. Mara Hoffman - psychedelic & hypnotizing, having strong ethnic influences, these amazing patterns, soft, light fabrics and flattering cuts - it's pretty much everything one fashionista could hope for the spring! Tribal print found it's way to fashion last season, well Mara is just taking it to the next level with flaunting this african and bohemian vibe. I love it!
2. Nicole Miller - Mixing funky patterns with very feminine cuts and putting it to a classy, wearable frame, you can do nothing but love it! This collection is so real and fashionable that from the first view you could imagine women all over the world wearing these looks in the office or just running errands. Besides the subtle floral print, she has added a touch of geometry, making the soft flowers edgier and that way creating a true modern woman feel.
3. Prabal Gurung - Being quite a young designer, he has stunned the fashion world again with this year's collection! Staying true to his signature, you can find soft, elegant dresses with silky fabrics and colors from pastels to neon. The amazing detail work and even more breathtaking cuts stole the hearts of many, including mine. Prabal Gurung is by far my favorite, earning the name of a genius from me! :)
What do you think of the fashion week's collections so far? Who is your favorite and why? Share your thoughts with me! :)
