It has been way too long since my last DIY - I can't even remember that! Somehow I haven't had any ideas for making some DIY posts but one day this idea just hit me :) Well, I've done statement necklaces before so it wasn't really hard - therefore I wanted to show this to you too because it's very easy to do, doesn't take a long time nor requires any particular skills. :) Here is the tutorial for the necklace!
1. First cut out a template for the shape you want your necklace to be. I suggest to use quite strong cardboard - you wouldn't want your necklace to break!
2. Take a nail polish you like - I chose this light sparkling creamy tone for my base - and cover the template with nail polish. Let it dry for a while!
3. Then take some sequins and glitter glue and just start decorating! This is where your imagination comes in - you can do however you like and what colors you like! Isn't that fun?! Put a little bit of regular glue to the board and stick the sequins on it. Press it down for just a little bit so it would stick well :) Be sure to use a glue that has no color, otherwise the necklace can get a bit messy.
4. For some extra touch and to make a statement I wanted to add some bigger details. To do that, I took some pretty buttons and covered them with glitter glue so they would look like big pearls, not buttons! PS: Let the glitter glue dry really really good and also you might have to cover the button for the second time - it might not cover properly.
5. Glue your decorated buttons on the board just like you did with the sequins :)
6. For some extra details, you can add more sequins to the necklace and make it very shiny and bright!
7. To give perfect polished touch, just fill all the gaps with glitter glue and you are done! Let it dry at least overnight :)
