Less is more - thoughts on the Photoshop mania

 RECENTLY IN THE MEDIA ...
...there has been a huge buzz on the Photoshop topic, how fashion industry has gone way too far with it and how even fashion bloggers edit the photos crazily before publishing - so the media would only see an image of perfection. So the big question for every blogger and social-media-active person is - photoshop or no photoshop?

Do The Hotpants blog revealed recently a story of pictures she had photoshopped and posted before-after editing photos which ended up being not so different after all! The point - she realized how she had stressed over nothing and had tried to "fix" things that didn't need fixing. The pressure of being perfect, especially if you post a huge part of yourself to public constantly is too much.

I cannot count the times I have deleted pictures I didn't want to publish because "they weren't perfect enough" - it's almost a 100 pictures for every shoot! We try so hard to put together an image of this perfect life were only teddybears and rainbows exist without any problems. The truth is, every single person out there - whether they are a blogger, an actress or the president - has their own personal issues that they deal with all the time. Sometimes this little game concludes into a terrible state of mind and eliminates everything we have ... that being the example of one amazing actor who I personally admired a lot - Robin Williams. He portrayed these amazingly positive people and surrounded himself with so much positive public image but in the end the publicity had no idea he suffered a great deal.

I know it can be so hard to show the real you but that's what matters the most. I cannot emphasize it enought but you always must stick to who you are. As an example - I kind a tried to "overestimate" my size and squeezed myself into Rauno's tiny Diesel jeans (cmon - it's Diesel and they looked awesome on him). Yes, there was a bit of chubbyness and at first I actually considered deleting these pictures but after everything that has been going on in the media lately, I decided to publish these and just be happy with every inch I've got. Because it's all me and it doesn't change my qualities or my personality.

What's your take on the photoshop-mania that has been going on?

xoxo
