The Dark Side is taking over the Fashion - Star Wars is back in STYLE!

Lovely Sunday evening to you all! :)

Being a 90s kid and one of those people who hadn't watched Star Wars (not a single episode!), both me and Rauno felt like we really need to see the whole saga, because it is a huge cultural deal and was big hit in the 80's, 90s. Therefore, we finally took the courage (it took about 1 week of negotiating whether to watch it or not) and watched all the movies within 3 days. You know what's the most odd thing about it? We ACTUALLY loved it! And now that it has ended .. we miss it. Rauno is even watching a Star Wars game let's plays in Youtube to find something new and awesome about the movie. After we finished the saga, we started noticing Star Wars related aspects EVERYWHERE! It almost felt like we were hallucinating since it's an old saga and logically it shouldn't be so IN right now...

...but guess again! Star Wars has silently found its' way into fashion again and in the exact right time - during the galaxy themed clothing ruler-year!  (and since actually the next episode is in the making right now as we speak!) At first it all seemed very logical for me because galaxy theme and sci-fi has been in style for a while now so what could be better than an epic movie saga about the galaxy!  But then I decided to dig deeper to the subject and found the root of the whole trend.  That would be 2 names: Nicolas Ghesquière & Balenciaga . Ghesquière, being famous for his passion for sci-fi and using that field for inspiration, brought Star Wars back to life in fashion with these fierce sweaters that any fashionista would just die for! Aren't they absolutely awesome?! These particular outfits below are from Balenciaga F/W 2012 collection that overall is very straightforward and unique, but then those Star Wars inspired ones add just a little bit of fierceness to the hole collection - just like a cherry on top of a cake, it fits perfectly.

You almost thought that Star Wars is only left for runways and high fashion? No no. I've seen crazily many outfits with clothing inspired by the saga and it's all in the mainstream fashion, being worn on the streets every day! That's what I love about fashion -  you find inspiration from a movie? Make it alive & rock it every single day :)

You are a dress girl? Why not wear a R2-D2dress! You are a leggings girl - hey, here's a pair of Chewbacca-print lovelies for you :)

This particular dress took my heart and made it dance. I'm not the biggest fan of the saga but I have to admit that this dress is so awesome that I could just stare it & wish that after a while staring it, it will magically appear in my closet!

Very minimalistic, very modern and very much Star Wars! Rock it with jeans and pair of JC spiked lita's and I'd say you are one hell of a stylish girl!

Another great way for wearing a Star Wars sweater. There are 2 things I really love about this - firstly I love the picture on the sweater; to be exact I love how artistic it looks and that the picture is from the older Star Wars series, original and known to many. Moreover, I love how the sweater has been put to an outfit - very modern and suitable for this time period.

"Come to the dark side, we have cookies." .. Enough said, girls with attitude gotta love a sweater like this!

And to end it all, these leggings are heaven! Crazy leggings have been rocking the fashion world and now leggings like these - everybody would turn their head to see that print on you! I think it screams "I'm unique and fashionable". I adore them! And hey - there are 2 friends represented on each leg. So you can say that your leggings are representing not only Star Wars, but friendship!

The ways of having this theme in your wardrobe = endless. For me, a must haves in my wardrobe are definitely a Star Wars print skater skirt - it would look just to die for - and a fierce little dress with a similar print!  What an amazing way of showing originality and style?! Even if you are not a fan, it's definitely very unique way to style yourself, but if you are a fan or you just like the movies it's even better way to show your love. And hey - what a nice opportunity it is to start a conversation with someone. People would be very curious of whether you like Star Wars and a very widely known theme as it is, it would give you a huge subject to talk about or hey - maybe even find a new friend!

What to you think about Star Wars finding it's way to people's heart through fashion? Would you wear it? What's your favorite item of all of these?!

Stay in touch,

xoxo
